A few weeks ago I photographed Abby and Keith. They wanted snow for their photos. They are having a winter wedding and thought engagement photos should be the same. This winter didn’t seem to promising for snow. No snow at Christmas, just a lot of brown and sticks for trees. We were scheduled for Saturday morning and we would try a few and finish with some indoor photos against a background. We woke up Saturday to white everywhere!! I would like to say I made a call and arranged that for them but I don’t have Mother Nature’s direct line. I do know a Hollywood effects person who specializes in snow, but it would have been cheaper flying somewhere to go to snow. So, back to snow in Appleton. We had a great time in the snow, they were even brave enough to just be in shirts. We built a snowman and even had a snowball fight, which the cameras survived.

Last Week I had the pleasure of photographing Lindsay and Tom’s engagement photos. We had a great time walking to the different areas and getting to know each other. They laughed at my bad jokes, they laughed with each other, all around a great shoot. I always enjoy seeing how my couples relate to each other and knowing this before the wedding helps me on the wedding day.
Here are a few engagement photos from last weekend. They loved the outdoors and wanted to do a little something with the colors. We were at a few places but ended up at Peabody park in Appleton. I love going to this park for it’s many areas to shoot. Many years ago with the help of my mentor this is where I learned to “see” light. It has been a while since I have been here and it needs to get back on my radar.
This weekend I had the pleasure to photograph the fabulous Julia and Nate. We did a tour of downtown Appleton including a ride on the trolly. We had a blast and I can’t wait for the wedding. Here are a few photos from our field trip.
The other day I photographed this great couple. They wanted something a little different then park pictures. Don’t get me wrong they wanted that as well, but when it is early in the spring that can prove to be a little difficult. So after the park pictures we took a walk downtown. Appleton still has a decent downtown with some great store fronts. So we had some fun and played around a little.
This last one is a little different all on it’s own. It is a technique I am starting to play with. The technique is called TtV, which stands for “Through the Viewfinder” I will post more about this another time. For now enjoy the photo.
I had the pleasure of photographing these two the other evening. We did some things at Lawrence University and then walked downtown Appleton.
I love finding different backgrounds that have different textures and patterns.
I love this green door and the look on her face is just priceless. We had a blast doing these photos.
I always like my couple to do a few kissing shots. It lets me know if they have to do any homework with their kissing before the wedding
